{"id":17413,"date":"2012-06-14T12:41:42","date_gmt":"2012-06-14T19:41:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev-clm-blog.pantheonsite.io\/?p=17413"},"modified":"2012-06-14T12:41:43","modified_gmt":"2012-06-14T19:41:43","slug":"summer-has-come-to-oregon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.clminternship.org\/?p=17413","title":{"rendered":"Summer Has Come to Oregon!"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"attachment_17415\" style=\"width: 160px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/dev-clm-blog.pantheonsite.io\/?attachment_id=17415\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-17415\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-17415\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-17415\" src=\"https:\/\/dev-clm-blog.pantheonsite.io\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/DSC08557-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-17415\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Rorippa columbiae<\/p><\/div>\n<p>After a couple of weeks of cold weather (including snow!) up here in Lakeview, it is finally summer!\u00a0Flowers\u00a0are blooming, lizards are sunning, and interns are hunting for rare plants. \u00a0Jessy, Liz and I have travelled all around the Lakeview district for the BLM, looking for populations of sensitive species, including <em>Rorippa columbiae <\/em>(Columbian yellowcress), <em>Cymopterus nivalis <\/em>(snowline spingparsley), and <em>Pogogyne floribunda<\/em>\u00a0(profuseflower mesa mint).<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_17414\" style=\"width: 160px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/dev-clm-blog.pantheonsite.io\/?attachment_id=17414\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-17414\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-17414\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-17414\" src=\"https:\/\/dev-clm-blog.pantheonsite.io\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/DSC08423-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-17414\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Cymopterus nivalis<\/p><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Some of the populations were last surveyed in the early 1980s,\u00a0so finding and mapping them can be both exciting and sometimes frustrating. \u00a0We spent some time up at Table Rock, which was gorgeous and fun to hike, as well as the Black Hills and various rims and dry lakes.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_17417\" style=\"width: 160px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/dev-clm-blog.pantheonsite.io\/?attachment_id=17417\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-17417\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-17417\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-17417 \" src=\"https:\/\/dev-clm-blog.pantheonsite.io\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/DSC08282-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-17417\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Paeonia brownii<\/p><\/div>\n<p>In addition to the target species, we have had a chance to see some of the most beautiful flowers of the Pacific Northwest, including <em>Paeonia brownii (<\/em>Brown&#8217;s Peony), <em>Sphaeralcea coccinea (<\/em>scarlet globemallow), and many species of <em>Castilleja <\/em>(Indian Paintbrush). \u00a0Looking forward to finding more interesting plants and exploring Southern Oregon!<\/p>\n<p>Emily<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After a couple of weeks of cold weather (including snow!) up here in Lakeview, it is finally summer!\u00a0Flowers\u00a0are blooming, lizards are sunning, and interns are hunting for rare plants. \u00a0Jessy, Liz and I have travelled all around the Lakeview district &hellip;
