How long is my life
\nfor that I don’t know
\nIt may be a year
\nbefore I will grow
\nThe winter may prove to be harsh
\nProve to bring much snow
\nbut spring will surely come
\nBut when will I grow?<\/p>\n
The start of my life
\nWill I become a tree
\nOr possibly a flower
\nsuch quaint friends with a bee
\nPerhaps a mangrove
\nwith such great views of the sea
\nWhatever the outcome
\nI hope I have some company<\/p>\n
Some more of my kind
\nor some others for that
\nI would be quite happy
\nto be friends with a gnat
\nthe stories we’d share
\nabout this thing or that
\nThe age we would gain
\nand grow comfortably fat<\/p>\n
But these are just dreams
\nI just thought you should know
\nThey are just hope
\nJust thoughts about life
\nJust hopes ’till I sew
\npehaps a large field
