down in the chaparral on the southern slopes, bush poppy (<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><i>Dendromecon rigida<\/i>) and chaparral whitethorn (<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><i>Ceanothus leucodermis<\/i>) are in bloom, as well as many other forbs.<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">\u00a0 Over on the desert side, a few Joshua trees (<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><i>Yucca brevifolia<\/i>) were beginning to bloom on Feb. 23, as well as other forbs, including <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><i>Lomatium mohavense<\/i> and the federally endangered Cushenbury milk vetch (<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><i>Astragalus albens<\/i>).<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">\u00a0 I\u2019ve been doing some work in ArcGIS, in preparation for moving older sensitive species occurrences into the FS database.<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">\u00a0 We are also continuing work on the invasive plant guide, and are in the final stages of editing and formatting.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Mountaintop Ranger District<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>San Bernardino NF, USDA-FS<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;
