{"id":5601,"date":"2011-07-25T11:14:48","date_gmt":"2011-07-25T18:14:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev-clm-blog.pantheonsite.io\/?p=5601"},"modified":"2011-07-25T11:14:48","modified_gmt":"2011-07-25T18:14:48","slug":"extraction-challenge-of-the-week","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.clminternship.org\/?p=5601","title":{"rendered":"extraction challenge of the week"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After being at the Bend Seed Extractory for nearly a year, I can open most seed collections and know immediately which cleaning method will bring the best results.\u00a0 This was not true of my &#8220;challenge of the week&#8221;, <em>Grindelia squarrosa <\/em>(GRSQ).\u00a0 Members of the aster family are\u00a0usually difficult because the seeds\u00a0are often fragile and\u00a0come accompanied\u00a0by a\u00a0lot of vegetative material.\u00a0 This collection of GRSQ, or curlycup gumweed, \u00a0held true to those characters of the aster family but had\u00a0some additional challenges &#8211;
