{"id":58832,"date":"2014-09-12T11:43:41","date_gmt":"2014-09-12T18:43:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev-clm-blog.pantheonsite.io\/?p=58832"},"modified":"2014-09-12T11:43:41","modified_gmt":"2014-09-12T18:43:41","slug":"ripe-for-the-picking","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.clminternship.org\/?p=58832","title":{"rendered":"Ripe For The Picking"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We have still been out everyday scouting and collecting. \u00a0Although it has finally felt like things are starting to slow down here in Southern Oregon. \u00a0There are a few exceptions, which are lending themselves to unique species that are late bloomers. \u00a0These late bloomers appear to have slipped below the radar in past years and we are able to make some collections that have not been made in previous seasons.<\/p>\n<p>We spent yesterday up on Mt. Ashland (the largest mountain in Oregon east of the Cascades) standing at 7,533 feet and were amazed to see how many species were still ripe for the picking. \u00a0Some flowers, such as\u00a0<em>Monardella villosa\u00a0<\/em>(coyote mint), were still flowering!
