We started in the Bristlecone National Forest to find a population of <em>Lipidospartum<\/em>, that will be used in genetics research. While we were so close to the Bristlecones, we ventured up into the ancient forest on search of Methuselah, the almost 5,000 year old tree.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_59708\" style=\"width: 235px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/dev-clm-blog.pantheonsite.io\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/IMG_0290.jpg\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-59708\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-59708\" alt=\"Bristelcone\" src=\"https:\/\/dev-clm-blog.pantheonsite.io\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/IMG_0290-225x300.jpg\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.clminternship.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/IMG_0290-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/blog.clminternship.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/IMG_0290-768x1024.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-59708\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Bristelcone<\/p><\/div>\n<p>After the ancient trees, we headed up Tioga Pass to Yosemite and collected some riparian species in a beautiful yellow aspen patch. We then drove towards the tufa shores of Mono Lake on the search of some Chenopods and Artemisia.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-59709 aligncenter\" style=\"color: #333333; font-style: normal;\" alt=\"IMG_0303\" src=\"https:\/\/dev-clm-blog.pantheonsite.io\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/IMG_0303-225x300.jpg\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.clminternship.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/IMG_0303-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/blog.clminternship.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/IMG_0303-768x1024.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Our third night we\u00a0stayed in a rustic town with natural hot springs.
