I am on a mission, a wild plant hunt<\/span><\/p>\n To find the rarest, most special flora of the runt<\/span><\/p>\n The struggling plant species throughout the state <\/span><\/p>\n The munched, tired, living on specific substrate<\/span><\/p>\n Many grow near roads, trails, oil and gas<\/span><\/p>\n Where their little stems don\u2019t stand a chance<\/span><\/p>\n Townsendia, the sweet little desert daisy<\/span><\/p>\n Thrives on gypsum soil and trails that go crazy<\/span><\/p>\n Astragalus, the yummy little pea<\/span><\/p>\n Grows in PJ shrublands with glee<\/span><\/p>\n Eriogonum, the vibrant buckwheat<\/span><\/p>\n Bright yellow flowers lookin so sweet<\/span><\/p>\n On gypsum soil is where it is found<\/span><\/p>\n And oil and gas is always around<\/span><\/p>\n Bracks cactus, the tiniest little thing<\/span><\/p>\n Easy to miss, until you feel it\u2019s sting<\/span><\/p>\n All these plants are important and sweet<\/span><\/p>\n Bringing diversity only they can meet<\/span><\/p>\n Tagging, surveying, monitoring a\u2019plenty<\/span><\/p>\n This work is tedious but the rewards are many<\/span><\/p>\n Helping understand population, habitat, and needs<\/span><\/p>\n In order to conserve and protect these plants and their seeds!<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Rare Plants of New Mexico I am on a mission, a wild plant hunt To find the rarest, most special flora of the runt The struggling plant species throughout the state The munched, tired, living on specific substrate Many … Continue reading
